Minutes of Board Meeting of June 22, 2005Beth Israel CongregationMinutes of the Board June 22, 2005 Present: D’Angelo, Berman, Ahronheim, Rashes, Rosenberg, Finerman, Gershowitz, Dorusin A quorum was not present. No official business was conducted. Rabbi Dobrusin commented on the many fine programs held at Beth Israel during the last month. Rashes, as a member of the Staffing Committee, provided an overview of the analysis of our present staff configuration and costs. Rashes, as Treasurer, stated that the projected deficit for the current fiscal year, ending June 30, 2005 is $10,700. This is with full annual funding of the Rabbi’s Sabbatical Fund and the Capital Depreciation Fund. President D’Angelo mentioned that Sorkin has indicated two of the doors at GSAC are not functioning properly and will have to be replaced soon. Religious Vice-President Ahronheim reported that at the last meeting of the Religious Committee, one of the issues discussed was that of seating, and the reserving of seats by family members, during the High Holidays. The Committee has several suggestions for educating congregants with regard to this problem. Finerman provided an update on the building renovation. It will take three weeks to rebuild the parking lot. Work will commence on July 5th. Gershowitz spoke of the need to re-energize the Men’s Club. The Men’s Club will continue to provide ushering during the High Holidays, Men’s Club Shabbat, sukkah building, and the Worldwide Wrap.
