Wednesday, June 14, 2023 • 25 Sivan 5783
6:30 PM - 7:30 PMPlease join us on June 14th at 6:30 when Terry Swartzberg will be presenting a talk on “Stolpersteine'' or stumbling blocks that commemorate the lives of those lost in the Holocaust. 100,000 Stolpersteine have been placed in the ground in 1800 cities throughout Europe in the places that victims of the Holocaust lived. Terry’s work with his group J. E. W. S., Jews Engaged With Society, centers around commemoration of these lives as well as the joyful expression of Judaism through wearing a kippah for over 10 years and hosting Open Shabbats and other events for the wider community to build bridges, allay fear, and mobilize support for Judaism. Commemoration and courage and joyful Judaism: quintessence of Terry Swartzberg and his work. Born in New York and long-time international journalist based in Germany, Terry is a passionate advocate of individualized, person-to-person commemoration of the Holocaust. He has been honored by the German government, leading Holocaust museums, and leading museums around the world.
