As Rabbi Caine preached on Yom Kippur morning, ever since the pandemic began, our children are simply not alright. It will take years for us to come to grips with the mental toll these years have taken on our children. Studies are coming out each week showing the dramatic increases in anxiety and depression. What can we do as parents, as teachers, as a synagogue?

A relationship with God has an important role to play, one that doesn't see God as a distant, transcendent figure, but rather as a partner in our relationship with our own inner voice. How do we help our children cultivate a positive relationship with their inner voice(s)? How do we help them feel greater peace, gratitude, and confidence?

Using Jewish sources, Eli Lebowitz's Breaking Free of Child Anxiety and OCD, and Ethan Kross's Chatter, I will be leading study and discussion of how we raise our children with less anxiety and more God.

We'll be meeting for three one-hour Sunday morning sessions:

February 19 11:00 a.m., March 5 10:00 a.m., March 19 11:00 a.m.

During one (or more) of these sessions, Beth Israel member and parent Ethan Kross will share perspectives from his own research and experience.

All parents are invited to join me in the upstairs social hall this coming Sunday for the first of these in-person sessions.
