Teach at Beth Israel Religious School!
Do you enjoy interacting with and teaching children? Are you passionate about passing the world-changing content of our religion to the next generations? Beth Israel Religious School, part of the dynamic and growing Beth Israel Congregation’s youth engagement and education program, is seeking energetic teachers to teach our amazing students. Here is our “wish list” for the qualities, skills, and experience we seek for all of our teachers:

A positive attitude about children & Jewish education
-
Able to decode Hebrew
-
Able to teach Hebrew decoding
-
Able to teach Jewish Studies
-
Able to lead and teach Shabbat prayers, both read/spoken & sung
-
Education & teaching experience, and/or pursuing a minor or major in education
-
Can commit to the full 2024-2025 school schedule as listed here
-
Can teach 10-20 students alone to be a lead teacher
-
Able to work cooperatively with staff, students, and parents
-
Committed to building a positive school & BIC community
-
Great written & verbal communication skills
-
Able and willing to write lesson plans based on our new school curriculum to be a lead teacher. *Some lessons will be provided for teachers to follow
-
A love of utilizing writing, reading, the arts, and creative & interactive methods to bring content alive, keeping students happily engaged & learning
Pay starts at $25 per hour commensurate with experience and position. During the school year, teachers work on Wednesdays from 4:00-6:10 pm and on Sundays from 9:30am-12:10pm.
