Jewish tradition is filled with creatures and magic of all types. To find them, we will engage with Torah, Talmud and later Jewish rabbinic writings that describe angels, demons, ghosts, giants, golems, vampires, dybbuks, and even unicorns! Along the way, we’ll touch on the Jewish magic tradition including amulets, charms, necromancy, and the great Jewish magic texts including "Sefer Yetzirah" and "The Sword of Moses." Taught by Jack Zaintz.

Nov 10 - Class 1: Demons & Lilith
Nov 17 - Class 2: Fallen Angels, Giants, and Unicorns
Dec 1 - Class 3: Ghosts and Dybbuks
Dec 8 - Class 4: Golems

If your family are current members of BIC and your student is in high school, the cost for all High School chugim (electives) for the 2020-2021 school year is $500. Once enrolled and this fee is paid, your student can participate in as many chugim as they wish.

For 9th-12th graders. Open to students from BIC and TBE.
